When she sets her eyes on him at the entrance of the bank her heart leaped up, she notices a pumping organ races fast within the thoracic cavity in her, there was an urge in her, the urge that develops in her was of strong affection for the young man she is seeing for the first time.
She joined the queue to enter the bank. Few minutes after he had entered she also entered the banking hall and coincidentally queued after him.
The queue is long, this is the month ending and salary earners are in the banking hall to withdraw money and do other transactions alongside others like business people who have come to do one or more things in the bank.
There were discussions here and there, the air conditioner seems not to be working, she looked at it and discovered that they are working, the heat is due to high number of people in the banking hall.
Some are resting their torso on the pillars in the hall, while few people that the seats provided in the hall could occupy have sat on them.
Some who can't condone the stress of standing are sited on the bare floor.
A lady before sitting down could be seen using her palms to blow air to herself, for the perspiration, when she notices that what she was doing didn't help much to avoid collapsing she sat on the floor after hissing.
The network is very bad today, for about 20 minutes that she has entered the hall, no one has been answered by any of the cashiers on the counter.
"This is a real mess" the guy says
"Real mess indeed!" She exclaimed, affirming what he has said, "I don't know the kind of network that this bank uses, it is always down every time I come to this bank"
"Oh! That's rather unfortunate. So sorry to hear you experience this whenever you are here…"
"Thanks Sir"
"It may be coincidental, for every time I come, her network is always up and running and with the speed of a lightening the cashiers answer the customers"
"It hasn't been like that for me… I am considering closing my bank account here and moving to another bank whose network is always okay"
"How would you know that? Their networks are almost the same… if this bank's network is down today, it will be the turn of another bank tomorrow…"
"But it seems to be a recurrent decimal here, out of the five working days of the week, hardly would her services be okay for a day…"
"The bank is yet one of the best banks in the country, with branches on other continents and it is rated high in our continent, and the best in our country by the global bank regulators."
"Uhm uhm? Is that so?"
"Yes it is"
"That's rather unfortunate. Which global regulatory organ rated her high and best? They I believe are those who don't know what we are experiencing in the country, they ought to be sampling opinions of customers before rating any bank" Ollehi said
They continued to chat while on the queue and it was as if they have been friends since their childhood days
Soon enough the network returned and the cashiers started attending to customers. They were simultaneously attended to by different cashiers which gave them the opportunity of leaving the banking hall at the same time.
Interestingly they were headed towards the same direction which allows them to enter the same cab. The friendship grows and they can't do without talking a day.
Alloy is one of the servants of chief Ìjàdopin. Chief Ìjàdopin is the only person living in the town, his wife and children are living in another town because of recurrent transfers as a federal government staff.
Ìjàdopin and his wife agreed that the wife and children live in the town where they get wedded, and where she is a small scale business woman whole he moves to different places he is being transferred to. They have also bought a building in the town his family settled down at.
While discussing this, because his wife initially did not want to agree with him to stay behind, for she has always wanted to be moving with her husband wherever he is transferred to, for better for worse, nothing should separate us, not even transfers she has opined.
However, he replied that her staying back would allow her to take care of their children and allow their properties to be secured and having more. For if they will be relocating together, they will be selling some of their properties which they may not be able to purchase back on getting to where he has been transferred to.
She reasoned along with him, and agreed since she also knows the kind of man she has married to, she knows he isn't a womanizer, intact before he married her, his people had to talk to him because he doesn't like women as such.
When she sees a beautiful one he will appreciate her just like others do, but apart from that appreciation no feelings for the lady again.
After being talked to, then he started seeking for a lady who will break the barriers of "lovelessness" in him, then she walks into his life one sunny day, he couldn't take his eyes off her. This will perhaps go like others but it never did. Soon he started seeking for means of knowing her deeply that was how everything snowballed into love.
Having been in love with him, she has equally tried him to know the kind of person he is and she discovered that he has no time for ladies.
So she agreed with his decision. As a senior staff, wherever he is transferred to accommodation would be provided for him, in one of the senior government residential quarters. Attached to him are about 3 servants who would be attending to him.
Ollehi is a fresh graduate who has been employed by a company in the town. She lives with other members of staff in the staff building not too far from where Alloy lives and works.
A month before her birthday she informed Alloy who wished her a wonderful birthday in advance. After wishing her a great birthday in advance, she asks him to take her out on that day.
He agreed to take her out because he knows that his master, chief Ìjàdopin would be out of town that week as such he and his two colleagues have freedom of movement that week.
Alloy and Ollehi went out on her day, they went to 3 places of choice. It was a memorable day for Ollehi and Alloy.
Ollehi wishes they will be going out together everyday for she felt relaxed and comfort being in his company
They used to squeeze out time to go out together every weekend because chief Ìjàdopin usually go to golf club every weekend. During the period that he will be away, Alloy and Ollehi would be together even if for 10 minutes.
Chief Ìjàdopin got to know of this and threatened to sack Alloy if he leaves the compound again, "for if others are leaving the compound as he does, the house would be prone to robbery.
He got the message across to his love who finds it hard to bear, but she needs to bear it at that moment.
The memories of their love, cuddling, chatting she always take along with her everyday, hoping and praying for the day her spouse will be a free person. As if she has known that the chief wouldn't allow them to come together in future she utilized the opportunity of regularly seeing him.
They could barely talk at length on the phone because the chief has timed their call logs, any discussion that exceeds 60 seconds would lead to another thing.
They attempted communicating through letters bit this method could only fly twice; the third time was a failure and almost landed Alloy in trouble.
Ollehi loves no other man, her mind is on Alloy and she is always praying that her spouse be freed from where he lives. She looks forward to him getting another job and tried to see if he could be employed by her company bit no positive results.
Ollehi was promoted by the management of her company and was transferred to the headquarters, seeing Allow now became a wishful thought. Yet they kept in touch with each other, affirming their love for each other on a daily basis.
Three months after Ollehi's transfer, Alloy resigned from the job with the mind of furthering his academics. He has good O Level results but no financial strength to further that was why he started working as a servant.
Ollehi promises to support his academic bid. He didn't secure admission the year he resigned therefore he started Pay on the spot (POS) business.
Though it took a while before he could make further progress in life, he did not regret his actions for through that he built his romantic relationship with his lover….
