Broken Vow
Brother Migbe, popularly called brother M, by all is a Christian brother living in the town of Gbako. Brother M is respected by all within the town because he contributes immensely to the growth of Christianity in the town.
He is a chartered accountant by profession, diligent, disciplined and focused. He did not marry early because of the position he held in the society and in the church. He said before he takes up the position in the church, he has been told that he would maintain a clean slate during the period he would be in the saddle of leadership. By maintaining a clean slate, he said he was told that, if he is yet to be engaged, it means he will not be engaged during the times he will spend as the leader, because they wouldn’t want him go use the position to lure ladies to himself, because ladies would want to be romantically involved with someone who they see as their leader. But if he is engaged that is good, they all know that it is not as if he uses his position to win the lady’s love.
They thus, say they want him to live by example, set good examples for others coming behind.
He weighed the option before him critically, and the position of the church before taken the position to lead the youths of the church and the neighborhood.
He spent 12 years in this position ensuring that there is stability in the Youth programs of the church before leaving the position.
By the time he left the position his age was 44 years. Immediately after leaving the position he started to seek for ladies who will be romantically involved with, but all the ladies seen do not wish to be involved with him. Most of them cite age as the reason why they do not want to be involved with him.
He kept praying, opened his eyes and was looking for avenue to get someone to be married to.
When he was 47 years, he eventually found someone who loves him as he was, loves him with all she has. When he was few days older 48 years, he got married to Likely.
Miss Likely is not an indigene of Gbako. Having finished her university, she was deployed to Gbako by the company which employed her to start working there.
One day when Migbe wanted to go and deposit money into his account in the Abbo bank, she met with Likely at the banking hall and they started discussing before they would be called by the cashier. They were discussing as if they had known each other for years, from this place they get their phone numbers and they started talking with each other. From this relationship other things developed, and they eventually got married.
Their relationship has been a wonderful one such that other youths in the neighborhood started praying that they would have a love life like theirs’.
As a chartered accountant Migbe’s work involves traveling to different places and countries to audit their accounts. This he has been doing even before he married Likely. However, about seven years their marriage with two children, Mrs. Likely changed her behavior to Mr. Migbe. She developed some characters that nauseate the man. She became jealous of her husband and started suspecting everything about the movement of the man. Mr. Migbe though tried his best to explain things to her wife, but his wife refuses to understand with him. She thought he was cooking up stories and that he was flirting around with other ladies at all those places he went to for auditing.
Since she couldn’t believe whatsoever his husband told her, this makes Mr. Migbe to change his password into his systems and phones thinking it was because he has access to his accounts that was what makes her to be misbehaving. He was however sorry to know that his wife hacked into his systems to know what he is doing.
There was a woman who is a chairman of Gbako Business Enterprise. This is a big business enterprise in the town. This woman, Mrs. Tegit, used to talk with Mr. Migbe very well, she used to link him up with people and different establishments Mrs Likely got the woman’s phone details from her husband’s phone and started abusing her, calling her different unprintable names.
Mr. Migbe’s plea to his wife fell on her deaf ears, such that he had to beat her up one day because of her misbehaviors. The woman grew from bad to worse, such that whenever Migbe is going home he would be afraid of going home because he wouldn’t be too sure of what he would meet at home, what his wife would do at home again.
The matter degenerated such that the pastors of their church and their parents need to wade into their situation on different occasions counseling them. But instead of his wife to change she did not change.
Migbe continues to beg her that he should work with him in building their home, but Mrs. Likely wouldn’t yield to the plea to change. When it was obvious to him that his wife would not change, he started seeking for alternative.
Migbe received another work to audit a firm in one of the countries located on the eastern side of their continent. When he got to the place, he met with a beautiful lady there. This lady was 37 years old at this time, but she was yet to be married. One thing led to another and within short time of Mr. Migbe’s work in the country, he became involved with the lady. That was how he broke his vow of years that he would not marry two wives in life.
This is the story of a man who has vowed that he would not marry two wives in life, but because of the behavior of his wife, he has to break the vow.
It is expedient for lady to know the followings about the man she wants to marry:
1. Know the type of man you are about to marry or have married,
2. Learn to believe the man,
3. Learn to respect the man,
4. Don’t push him out by your actions,
5. Pray against demons that want to destroy your family,
6. when you are counseled yield to the counsel,
7. Even if you and your husband are doing the same job, you cannot be together for 24 hours, learn to trust him because trust matters in relationship,
