The first world was brought to a stand-still by God's antagonists and that was why we read in the Scriptures that God created the heavens and the earth with a full stop after this statement. See, Gen. 1:1.
Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”.
The full stop in other words means no further developments, no obvious developments, everything stood still, everything was as it were before, no advancements. God was un-happy with this and He therefore decided to act, His actions brought other developments into the world. When a man and a woman come together and mating occurs, intercourse occurs, to which God says "Amen" leading to the sperm fertilizing the eggs of the woman. This fertilization will result in other changes that will essentially lead to embryo formation. Other changes to this will lead to fetus and its delivery. This shows that God does not have interest in stagnation.
When the child gets to the earth, his/her parents, yea, everyone will expect the child to keep growing and in case stagnation occurs anywhere along the path of the child’s growth and development, such will be looked into by the parents inviting all stakeholders to it to know what can be done to salvage the situation.
However, when this child is not static in the development the child will soon become registered in a school, from the kindergarten stage to primary until the child gets to the institution of higher learning to study the course of his or her choice. But in the case the child does not want to further his academics beyond the high school or secondary school level the child would be advised to learn a trade, to learn something that would be fetching him money. If it is a child with some congenital deformities, it has been known that the advanced countries have provisions for such child so that such a child would not be a liability to the society.
After all these have been achieved, there would be a time when the child would start living alone a time when the child would be freed and would start to work start to fend for himself.
These show that there is progress along the path of the child.
However, along the line, I mean for a normal being, a being not with any deformity nor any congenital anomalies, it is not uncommon to experience stagnation in any of these phases of development in life and according to a documentary put up by a journalist in one of the Nigeria newspapers, "no one in Nigeria can say she or he has not experienced stagnation". But be that as it may, it should be known that, the duration of individual's stagnation varies, for some it may be for months, while for some it may span through years.
It has been a common mantra in the nation called Nigeria and perhaps in the African setting to attach some meanings to those whose stagnation lasted for years and decades. The common knowledge relating to this is that those whose stagnation period lasted beyond normal it means that such a one has a greater glory.
Those who are spiritually inclined would even corroborate their saying by quoting the commonest histories known in the bible and that is the incident that happened unto Joseph before he became the Prime Minister in the land of Egypt. I am not here to refute or support that.
I want to believe that as far as God is concerned, God does not want stagnancy for anyone and in particular for His children.
But when stagnancy comes, the first thing that comes to mind of anyone in the black race or Africa setting so to say is consulting God. The God to be consulted depends on the person’s believe, for those who do not believe in Jesus they will consult their gods while those who believe in Jesus would be asked to consult God through Jesus.
People would be referred to go and pray on the issue that is for those who can stand alone in their closets of prayer, but for anyone who does not know how to stand alone in the closet of prayer, the person would be referred to some people who are spiritually gifted to help them in looking into the situation. The person to go to in this instance is someone who has some prophetic gifts, someone who can see into the future for them, a star gazer or fortune teller.
On the other hand for those who can stand alone in their closets of prayers and who have been tarrying with their “god” in seeing remedy to the logjam into which they found themselves, when things are exceeding the targeted time they have set for such things to end, such people would also be counseled along the wise of seeking some people who could see into their future for them to help them out, to assist them in seeing into what is happening, to help them seek the mind of their supposed “god” on the issue of stagnancy.
This kind of advice is often times strongly based on the proverb that says, “a lantern cannot see its base”, the base of lanterns would always be darkened irrespective of the brightness of the light of the lantern in the room. Thus the person would also be asked to seek solace in some other people near and far.
Outside this advice, there are other advices from other quarters that would come along the path of such a person who has just been cornered by the situation of the world into a static position as to what she or he should do and what she or he should not. These suggestions are sometimes essentially coming out of good minds and on some other instances not out of good minds.
Accepting or leaving these suggestions essentially depend on the person in question.
Some years ago, a prophet was telling us that anyone that goes to the mountain to pray on an issue such a one should not spend more than 7 days on the mountain and if it would be extended beyond those days, it should not be more than 9 days. He said after those lengths of days, the person should descend from the mountain because he believes the person’s prayers have been answered.
But for some who believed in spending months on the mountain, this counsel did not go down well with them.
I have now come to reasoning that, when one sincerely and with all his/her heart prays on something for that duration of time, the person should believe that his/her prayers have been answered. Although it may not have appeared physically, but it has been done, that is what the bible says.
Mar 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.
Another thing is we often times want the prayers answered in our ways but God may decide against that and this is why we need to take steps in some instances.
Taking step to do other things do not mean one is acting out of faith as some would want to say, but it in-fact mean we are putting our faith into practice.
The devils and enemies who have blocked a way for the person in a place or an establishment, their calculations are to keep the person at a stationary position until all his/her mates have passed, the enemies’ singular aim is to waste the person's time such as to make the person's life miserable to him/herself. But if the person can understand this, that after the person has whole heartedly offered prayers to God on that thing and the person starts something else, making advancements then if the Lord wants to answer the person's prayer according to how the person asked Him, He will not suffer him to proceed long before coming to the scene. This will silence the enemies because the stagnation planned for the person has not worked.
This writer has suffered something like this, I felt, it will assist someone who is passing through some things now, who has been on a position for long to take another step and stop being myopic, stop listening to the deceptions of the enemies that taking another step means you do not have faith. That is the deception of the enemies to waste your time. You have to deliver yourself from the enemies’ antics.
Act 2:40 “Save yourselves from this untoward generation”.
