Reason for Your Afflictions #2

Earlier on

I have started this article by saying that humans are the same all over ages at least since the fall of man in the garden of Eden. I have continued by showing us some of the reasons why the man believed what he passed through was the best for his welfare which he unarguably believes would be the best for us all if we also are passing through a similar thing.

3. Knows More About God: Some things we would not have known about God at our comfort zones, because God has many sides. He creates the light and darkness, forms evil and good, allows wickedness and goodness to thrive, allows good and wickedness people to thrive together.

It is during the time of our affliction that we shall know why he allows for wickedness and goodness to thrive together, why he did not kill the wicked people etc. it is during this period that we shall know why he allows poverty to continue in some places and truck some people wick poverty.

4. Have Deeper Understanding About the Tenets and Laws of God: when we do not have deeper understanding about God, we say many “gibberish” things, we speak as if we are the ones who God has appointed to judge the world, but during this process that we have deeper understanding about God we shall stop saying some things, because we have left the phase of babies and children to being an adult.

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” (1 Cor 13:11)

5. Learning More About Him: When things are going on smoothly for us, when everything we lay our hands upon prospers we belittle others, we look at others somehow, as if God has not created them, sometimes we say they are weak, lazy etc. because things are not working for those people, but when we are being afflicted, we started knowing that it is what God likes that he does among the people of the world.

“And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Dan 4:35)

May I say that Prophet Moses would not have been able to lead the people out of the land of Egypt assuming he did not pass through what he passed through. Even if he were not detected by the person who detected him and he started mingling and planning with the Israelis in the land of Egypt then, he would not have become a success were he not to have passed through some periods of afflictions that he passed through. It was when he passed through those phases that he understands God more, it was then that he sees God in a new light and of course could have more understanding about the plights of the fellow humans.

The Author’s Submission: The author after experiencing what he experienced could sit down, flash back to the past and could reason that it is good that what happened to him happen it is good to be afflicted he says.

Why it is Good: The reason for saying this he could say and they are that,

1. During this period he learns more about God,

2. He knows more about people during this period,

3. He has deeper understanding about the world during this period

What to Learn from the Author

What we could learn from the author of this book as believers are

A) He Did Not Dodge the Affliction: When he was passing through those periods, he did not find another means, he was not negotiating it, finding a short cut to get out of the trials and troubles,

B) He Did Not Curse God: Some people when we are passing through some unpalatable things would start cursing God, but he did not do this, he did not curse God,

C) He Allows it to Have a Perfect Work in His Life: He allows what God wants him to pass through to have a perfect work in his life. Some people would not allow what they are passing through to have a perfect work in their lives and thence they will repeat it, go through the phase again in some other ways the lord seemly find good.

Wrapping this up, are you passing through some troubles and trials at the moment and you have thought that it is all over for you, you have been thinking that things cannot get well with thee again, be it known unto thee that God has allowed that to perfect his work in your life and when you pass through that phase you will become stronger, with more experience and would be able to admonish others in the will and way of God far above those who do not have experience, above those who will be speaking theoretically.
